Me, myself and I...

Eventually here is my final version of matte painting. I learnt really a lot developing this project. I hope you like it :)

Finally I decided that I will use the painting called ‘Guernica’ by Pablo Picasso. In my opinion the colors suit the best to my photo. The painting is some blue just like the picture so the colors look naturally. However by using Match Color my photo is brighten up what I think gives a nice effect.

Another thing to do was to find the suitable Match Color which would not only fit to the photo but also enrich it with any interesting colors. Here are my two attempts in looking for the best Match Color.

The last element that I added to my picture was tornado. I placed it on the left side to achieve some balance. I think that the tornado together with storm sky and lightenings give some scary atmosphere or at least I hope so because I wanted to achieve it by adding them :)

After adding the lightenings, fire and smoke my picture still looked some empty. I couldn’t find anything suitable to add there for a long time. I tried with helicopter and one monument however I didn’t really like what I achieved by adding those elements. Finally I decided that birds are a good idea because both the sky and the place in front of the caslte were looking some empty. Here you can see that I added lots of birds to fill the empty space. I thought they look quite interesting.

Next step was to try to work with the ruins. I wanted the castle to look more destroyed therefore I used Internet to look for any tutorials. However I didn’t find anything good so I just saved two images one with smoke and one with the fire and added them to my picture. I also used burn tool to make the caslte looks some burnt.
